SCP: Simply Creative People

Hi, my name is Grigori Karpin and I’ve been an author on the SCP Wiki for the last two years.  I’ve written over sixty articles of various genres and length, from the novel length SCP-6500 (which I wrote with 6 others in June of 2021) to a short article about a cursed children’s record from the 1950s with SCP-6301.

In that time, I’ve taken a close look at the various communities of fans of online fiction – especially those who pay attention to SCP – and thought there was something missing: a platform for creative voices to be heard and connect more directly to those who enjoy the world of SCP.  Out there I’ve seen incredibly well produced TikTok videos and YouTube channels, and some really excellent fictional podcasts or podcasts adapting stories from the wiki.  But what I didn’t see was a place for creators to talk about their passions, their projects, and the wider world of SCP in general.

Flash cut to last week, when I launched SCP: Simply Creative People – a podcast about SCP creatives, be they authors, artists, or offsite content creators like YouTube and TikTok.  We’re focused on bridging the gap between various fans and serving as an introduction to different concepts and stories on the wiki.  I’ve been joined by HarryBlank, my collaborator and best friend on the wiki, as cohost – bringing some much needed energy and mockery!

We regularly have more authors and creatives join for discussions about their projects, and to serve as a curation of the Wiki so that new and old fans might find new things to learn about or enjoy.  This community has literally saved my life in the last two years, the pandemic has been horrific for all of us I am sure, and I want some place where I can start giving back to the authors and creatives out there who have inspired and entertained me.  So, come join this new world with SCP – one where it doesn’t matter how you enjoy the content, and where we all might learn a little something about each other.  While joking about weird internet horror.

About me
and the show

Hi, I’m Grigori Karpin and I’m an author on the SCP Wiki and cohost of SCP: Simply Creative People – the podcast for SCP creatives and fans to meet in the middle and learn – all while we chuckle at weird horror stories on the internet. I am joined by one of my best friends and author of SCP-7000, HarryBlank, every week as cohost and a series of rotating guests.

Finally got around to listening. Great job! Of course, I might be biased ;p
